What this programme is offering
The FES African Union Cooperation Office, the FES African Migration Policy Centre (FES AMPC), and FES Ethiopia National Office offer internship opportunities at our joint premises in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia!
Tasks
Interns will support the work of all three teams: FES Ethiopia National Office, FES African Union Cooperation Office (FES AU), and the FES African Migration Policy Centre (FES AMPC), depending on current activities at the time of the internship. They will work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues and project partners.
Typical tasks include:
Conducting thematic research
Writing reports and meeting minutes
Supporting event planning and general office administration
Attending seminars, conferences, and policy events in Addis Ababa
Assisting with communications and social media tasks
Requirements
Internships typically last between 3 to 4 months, with a maximum duration of 90 days for non-residents due to visa regulations.
Applicants should:
Be in the final stages of a Master’s program in a relevant field (e.g., Political Science, Economics, International Relations, International Law, Journalism, African Studies, etc.)
Demonstrate interest in political, social, or development issues
Be interested in the thematic areas of all three FES teams
Be able to work independently and show initiative
Have strong communication, research, and social media skills
Be proficient in English (the working language of the office)

Please note:
Internships take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
FES does not cover costs related to travel, visa, accommodation, insurance, or meals
A monthly allowance is provided by FES

Selections will be finalized by 20 August 2026. Short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview.
